Alive was the next big hit which was a movie about a plane that crashed in the snow covered mountains and the football team who were trapped there for many days. In 1996 he was also a main character in the movie True Blue which was another hit on the big screen. As a co star in the movie American Psycho that was released in 2000 his popularity grew and more producers of movies where asking him to screen for their parts. A Beautiful mind with Russell Crow was another box office classic which was nominated for many awards. Josh played the part of a real person in a movie that was full of imaginary people. His part in the comic book story turned movie called the hulk was just the thing for this actor to get his foot into a few other doors. Now with Stan Lee in his sights this meant that Josh Lucas could easily be picked for just about any movie in Hollywood.

Josh was born in Little Rock Arkansas in 1971 which would make him a still young actor at the age of 39 this year. His childhood was something different for most people having to travel around different American states with his hippie parents protesting in rallies against nuclear power. After moving to Hollywood at the age of 19 josh was soon cast in roles for TV as the pop in roles which usually only lasted for one episode. Snowy River was one of his earliest films as well as the still popular plane crash movie Alive. In the year 2000 he played next to the main character in American Psycho which was a well accepted American cult classic. Josh also played a role in the movie about the porn star John Holmes where he played a cocaine dealer in Wonderland. Being an all round actor Josh received a lead role in the several movies after this including Poseidon, Stealth and Undertow.

In 1993 at the early start of Lucas’ career we see that starred in a major role straight away in the movie Alive. This movie was a drama about a group of people that get caught up in a plane crash incident which is in the snow. A good movie to start with if you want to see some classic Josh. In the 2000 version he played the part next to the lead of actor in American Psycho where he was just another one of the Wall Street wonders. In a Beautiful mind Josh plays a part next to Russell Crow as one of his friends and another student from his college. In the movie Stealth he really takes the lead role against other great actors and one actress plus a computer driven jet plane. He also takes the lead in the second edition of the Poseidon where he takes a crew through the action packed upside down cruise ship to safety through the giant propellers. All of his movies are worth seeing at least once so you should try one of them on DVD or go to the big screen and see them in high definition.

In the last decade after the start of the new millennium Josh has been in more than a dozen movies which were first rate and a few that are still worth the mention. In a beautiful mind he plays alongside Russell Crow as one of the students and later the adult friend of the main character. He plays a strong role which is natural for his acting ability however he never steals the scenes from the other actors. In 2002 we see Josh Lucas in the Hulk as the Major in charge of the army trying to capture and kill the Hulk. This movie is a wild ride and not a bad rip off of the original series from the 1970s. Once again in the movies the Hulk, Josh plays a strong support role vital to the story.

More recently in 2006 Josh was offered a major part in one of the next movies to be copied from the past. The Poseidon was originally a movie made in the early 1960 when films were just starting to get with moving scenes rather than moving objects through a scene. The 2006 version was perfect when it came to special effects, drama, action and excitement as Josh, (Dylan Johns) movies his team of survivors in an upside down cruise liner to safety through the very belly of the giant ship. Josh is one great actor that is proving to be a leading star which will no doubt continue to receive great acting roles which are due to his great acting skills.
